MILDEW RESISTANT

Fabric treated to make it resistant to fungi; e.g., mould and mildew.


MILDEWCIDE

A preparation formulated to kill mildew, usually by direct contact.


MILLIGRAM

A metric unit of measurement. There are 1,000 milligrams in one gram (g) of a substance. see _gram_


MINI CONTAINMENT

Small confined areas that may be used where glove bag enclosures are not feasible. The use of mini-enclosures must be approved by a remediation project manager. They typically are constructed using polyethylene sheeting.


MIST

Suspended liquid droplets measuring between 500 and 40 microns, generated by condensation from the gaseous to the liquid state, or by breaking up a liquid into a dispersed state, such as splashing, foaming or atomizing.


MITIGATION

1. Measures taken to reduce adverse effects on the environment. 2. _Reasonable and prudent_ steps taken under the terms of an insurance policy to limit loss (preserve, protect and secure property from further damage).


MIXTURE

Any combination of two or more chemicals, if the combination is not, in whole or part, the result of chemical reaction (in which a _compound_ is formed).


ML

Millilitre. A metric unit of capacity, equal in volume to one cubic centimetre (cc), or about 1/16th of a cubic inch. There are 1,000 millilitres in one litre (l).


MOBILISATION

Expenses incurred in assembling the required equipment, materials and personnel at a site prior to the start of work.


MOISTURE CONTENT

The percentage or weight of moisture in materials, as compared to the weight of that material when completely dry (oven dried)
