COVID-19 is driving many of us to a world of mandatory remote working and is showing us how important digital delivery will be in the future and accelerating our journey to get there.
The BDMA have responded to this by working to produce a virtually delivered version of our popular classroom training culminating with the accreditation exam on the afternoon of the second day of training.
Note that the BDMA records both the training and the examination Zoom sessions as part of an internal continuous improvement programme, and to ensure that the high standards of our examination and accreditation programmes are maintained.
Required pre-requisite learning
To enable us to condense the virtual training into a shorter time we are also introducing the BDMA Foundation which will be a pre-requisite for people attending virtual training. This will ensure that all candidates have a attained a similar level of learning before the course commences. This will contain the following modules available from the BDMA e-Academy: https://bdmaacademy.learnupon.com/dashboard
Mandatory Courses:
In addition, attendees will be expected to purchase and pass the core damage management e-Learning modules:
Prior to your training, you will receive a digital handbook with information relevant to the course.
Note that the BDMA reserves the right to refuse access to the virtual training course to any candidates who have not completed the mandatory pre-requisite training.
Requirements for quizzes and examination
All candidates are required to send a scanned copy of their photographic ID to info@bdma.org.uk before attending the course.
All candidates will need access to their own device (ideally a PC, laptop or tablet) with full audio and video capability; a keyboard and mouse is recommended. Candidates are responsible for ensuring a consistent internet connection.
For the examination, candidates will need to ensure that they are in a quiet location where they can remain undisturbed for the duration of the exam (3 hours). The format of the exam is a closed book assessment so all notes, booklets etc will need to be removed from the area before the exam starts.
The exam will be invigilated using Zoom.
The day preceding the exam, all candidates will be enrolled on ‘BDMA Practice Exam’ on the e- Academy. This is a familiarisation module for the formatting of the exam and will allow candidates to practice navigating questions, saving and submitting answers.
