Ian is an accomplished Learning & Development professional with extensive experience in the design, delivery, and management of technical training programmes. He has successfully delivered engaging, high-quality training across a wide range of technical disciplines, ensuring that learners at every stage of their career receive the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

His career includes significant contributions to the development and delivery of competency-based courses and programmes. He has collaborated with manufacturers, third-party training providers, and awarding bodies to create fit for purpose training courses and curriculums that support both individual progression and the wider needs of the industry. Ian has also been instrumental in designing accredited training programmes and assessment frameworks, embedding a minimum standard in professional standards.

In addition, he has overseen the training and accreditation of instructors, ensuring consistent delivery and learner outcomes across large training networks. With expertise in curriculum development, course design, and professional certification, Ian brings a strong foundation for driving forward the BDMA’s training strategy.

In his role as Learning and Development Manager, he will play a central part in expanding and enhancing the BDMA’s training provision, developing innovative learning opportunities, and ensuring that all training and accreditation supports the ongoing professional development of BDMA members and the wider damage management sector.
