Position: Restoration Technician

Purpose of role: To ensure current guidelines and best practice of the industry is always adhered to for the investigation and restoration of damaged buildings and contents including liaising with all parties involved in individual jobs. Ensuring that the most efficient and effective methods are used to obtain the best results for all parties.
RE Spencer Limited is looking for a Senior BDMA technician with at least 4-5 years’ experience, to manage the team of technicians and trainee technicians.
Salary is on a negotiable basis.
Responsibilities:
1.
To complete investigation, stabilisation and restoration of buildings affected or contaminated by water and fire from any source. Following procedures and guidelines of individual client requirements and in line with best practice and Industry standards.
2.
Undertake on site surveying of buildings to identify all affected areas of damage, recording and reporting on the findings, including any inherent issues identified that may impact the stabilisation or restoration of the property.
3.
Accurate collecting and recording of data taken on site at any water damaged property and using the data to map and monitor moisture levels.
4.
Using drying plans, created using data collected from site, establish the most effective and efficient method of drying the property to a stable condition and reporting on any issues preventing the achievement of expected standards and levels.
5.
Using action plans and procedures based on data collected from site, establish the most effective and efficient method of decontaminating buildings and contents.
6.
The accurate and efficient recording and reporting of data from site including photographs/videos to support the handling of contents and affected properties.
7.
Planning and preparation of onsite work activities including installation of drying equipment in properties affected by water, and the decontamination and preparation of buildings affected by water or fire from any source which may include the strip out of building materials to aid the restoration process.
8.
Maintain safe working conditions at all times on all sites of work for you, colleagues and any other customer or contractor visiting the site, practising good Health and Safety procedures and making others aware of any potential dangers of actions completed by them or others.
9.
The correct use of relevant PPE in all circumstances as required on all jobs.
10.
Be responsible for own health and safety in line with the company policy, reporting any hazards or risks within the workplace or on site at individual jobs.
11.
Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle inside and out, with regular check of stocked products and equipment within the vehicle.
12.
Ensuring all equipment removed from all working site jobs is recorded accurately, and on return to the unit the equipment should be checked and cleaned before returning the items into the warehouse, reporting any defects immediately.
13.
Maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse, with all movement of equipment and tools being accurately recorded, monitored and returned.
14.
Maintain clean and tidy work environments when working out on site, ensuring respect is shown to all customer homes and properties.
15.
To always behave in a professional manner on all sites and to ensure judgemental comments or remarks are not made about any contents of poor quality where not peril related. Confidentiality is very important and details of individual customer claims or information relating to the Customer should not be discussed outside of the business.
16.
To undertake regular training courses, both formal or on the job training including assessments and exams to gain qualifications of improvement and self-development.
17.
To help in all other areas of our business operation as and when needed and carry out other duties as may reasonably be required within your capability consistent with the terms and conditions of your employment.
18.
Continually strive to help develop and maintain existing and new processes to promote the services offered by our business.
19.
To be flexible during surge conditions as additional hours and weekend working will be required to meet the requirements of our clients and customers
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Knowledge
o Good standard of education
o Experience of Customer communication/involvement
o Understanding and experience within the damage management industry through time served and qualification.
Skills
o Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
o Restoration Technician Drying of Water damaged buildings and decontamination of fire affected properties.
o Basic computer literacy
o Full Driving Licence
