FIXTURES

Structural components affixed to a building in such a way that their removal would substantially affect the appearance and value of the property; e.g., light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, kitchen cabinets, sanitary fittings, doors, windows, mouldings.


FLASHING

A thin, impermeable building material used to prevent water penetration at roof edges, joints, windows and doors.


FLOOD ROLLER

A heavy, corrosion resistant cylindrical roller used to compress previously extracted carpet (and cushion) to force water saturation into surface yarns for further extraction.


FLOOR AREA

The area within the perimeter of a room or building, measured from the inside surface of the perimeter walls.


FLOOR COVERING

Any of several types and constructions of decorative materials that cover floors in homes and businesses, e.g., carpet, sheet vinyl, VCT, etc.


FLOORING

Any material used as the wear layer of an installed floor.


FOAM CLEANER

To clean by the application and removal of detergent foam.


FOGGER

A mechanical device used for diffusing and dispersing small (usually 1/2-20 micron MMD) droplets of insecticide or deodorizing compounds within the air.


FOGGING

Applying a chemical by rapidly heating or finely diffusing the liquid chemical so that it forms very fine droplets


FORMALDEHYDE

A pungent, colourless, irritating gas (CH2O) that is used as a preservative, sterilizing and disinfecting agent, produced in liquid or gaseous form.
